Completing the top 10 suppliers are Pakistan, Italy, Guatemala, Indonesia, Portugal, and Turkey. It is worth noting the significant growth in sales from Jordan (No. 16) and Morocco (No. 24), at 45.72% and 28.15% respectively.

Price Analysis of Cotton Sweaters

The average price of imported cotton sweaters in Canada is $10.85. Among the suppliers, Bangladesh, Morocco, and Ethiopia offer prices below the average, while countries like China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nicaragua, and Guatemala fall within the range of $10 to $20. On the other hand, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, and Italy compete mainly on quality rather than price.

Cotton sweaters enter the Canadian market primarily through the province of Ontario, followed by British Columbia and Quebec.

Ontario recorded imports of $121.5 million, representing 48.94% of the total. The sweaters primarily come from China (16.81%), Cambodia (16.68%), Vietnam (14.86%), and Bangladesh (12.72%). Peru ranks 12th with a 1.93% share and a 3% growth in sales.

British Columbia recorded imports of $69.2 million, 21% more than the same period last year. The province is mainly supplied by Cambodia (31.88%) and Vietnam (20.56%). Indonesia (+298%) and Malaysia (+1096%) experienced significant growth in their sales. Peru is the main reference in Latin America, with sales of $893,000 and ranks 10th as a supplier.

Quebec recorded imports of $45.4 million. China (24.71%), Bangladesh (13.33%), and Cambodia (11.87%) are the main suppliers. Peru ranks 18th with a 0.48% share.
